Job Description:  The individual selected for this position will assist in the administration of public, media, educational and community information.  These programs contributed toward public understanding of GSA programs and policies in the Region.  The candidate should have experience in the following:

• Media – write and edit news releases, public information statements, or any other materials needed to answer media inquiries
• Public information – write fact sheets, brochures, key messages, FAQs, and other materials for public distribution
• Stakeholders – respond to information requests to all levels of government, including state, local, and federal elected officials, special interest groups, community, and civic organizations.

Notice and Request for Proposals for Legal Research and Administrative Support for the Ak-Chin Law and Order Code Committee

The Ak-Chin Indian Community (“Community”) is seeking resumes and proposals from qualified persons or firms to provide the legal writing and research and administrative support services (“Services”) described in Section 1 below to support the Law and Order Code Standing Committee (“Committee”), which has been tasked with ongoing work related to updating the Community’s Law and Order Code.

The Community expects the Contractor to become an important non-voting member on the Law and Order Code Standing Committee. The Consultant will assist the Committee to further their Council assigned task: to update the Ak-Chin Indian Community Law and Order Code. The goal in mind is to produce a deliverable that will reflect the needs of the Community.

Required tasks include, without limitation:

• Participating in Committee meetings and Committee presentations, including taking all meeting minutes, preparing meeting agendas, and otherwise functioning as the Committee’s recording secretary.

• Conducting research within the documents and archives of the Community.

• Developing documents, including lists of laws, updated versions of laws, and memoranda summarizing research, and may include drafting proposals for new laws.

The purpose of the Judicial Selection Committee is to assist the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (“SRPMIC”) Council in selecting qualified persons to serve as judges for the SRPMIC by making timely recommendations for judicial appointment(s) that may occur through term expiration, resignation or removal.

Length of Service – The Judicial Selection Committee members shall serve a term of four (4) years. Committee members shall serve until they are replaced or reappointed by the SRP-MIC Council in accordance with the terms of this Policy.
