This 2 day, tuition free course provides hands-on, experiential training on how to qualify as an expert witness on domestic violence in tribal, state, and federal courts. Learn from some of Indian Country’s leading judges, attorneys, law enforcement officers, and victim advocates how to prepare for trial, qualify as an expert witness on domestic violence, and provide effective, persuasive testimony.Participants will have the opportunity to simulate taking the stand and providing domestic violence expert witness testimony in small, interactive breakout groups facilitated by legal, advocacy, and law enforcement experts.This is an advanced level professional course to assist experienced victim advocates and law enforcement officers in qualifying and providing effective testimony as expert witnesses on domestic violence against Native women.
