Position Description: Adjudicate civil and criminal cases on the Warm Springs reservation and administer the overall tribal court system. Protect all individual rights as guaranteed by the Constitution and by-laws, the law and order code of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs and the United States of America. Guide and service work of other judges, department head and court administrator. Preside over all cases presented to the court under the CTWS Law and Order code and ordinances. Recommend additions, deletions and modifications to overall court system, its laws, rules and regulations.

Education & Experience: Law degree preferred or relevant college course work in legal field. Ten years of experience in private or public job that is related to adjudicating civil and/or criminal cases. A combination of legal course work and/or experience is acceptable. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written, verbal and presenting. Thorough working knowledge of tribal court laws, rules of court, tribal code, ordinance and resolutions, laws pertaining to Indian tribes and other federal and state laws affecting Warm Springs Understanding of reservation’s customs, traditions and values.
