Job Description
Qualifications and Education Requirements

The Office of Legal Counsel consists of five (5) In-House attorneys as well as the Prosecutor, Assistant Prosecutor and Child Protection/ICWA attorney.  The Deputy Executive Legal Counsel completes tasks as assigned by the Managing Attorney and Executive Officials.  The Deputy Executive Legal Counsel would provide advice to the Executive Officials and various Boards, Committees, Commissions and Executive Branch departments such as the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Economic Development and the Environmental Protection Program.  The Deputy Executive Legal Counsel’s responsibilities would include: drafting, reviewing and analyzing agreements, cooperative agreements, leases contracts, orders, rights of ways, Memoranda of Understanding/Agreement, insurance claims and proposed regulations; drafting codes and regulations in cooperation with the Crow Legislative Branch; attending and providing input at Legislative Committee meetings and quarterly and special Legislative Sessions; attending on-site and off-site meetings with tribal departments and state, local or federal agencies and entities.
