The Wills Clinic, led by\u00a0<strong>Faculty Associate\u00a0Helen Burtis\u00a0<\/strong>(\u201908), was part of this semester&#8217;s Indian Legal Clinic&#8217;s course. The student attorneys met with Quechan Indian Tribe members individually to discuss the member&#8217;s estate planning needs. Each student attorney then drafted a member&#8217;s will, which was executed the next day. <strong>Jim Palmer<\/strong>, <strong>Jr.\u00a0<\/strong>(&#8217;04),\u00a0<strong>Simon Gertler <\/strong>(&#8217;18) and<strong>\u00a0Margaret Hirchak\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>(&#8217;12), all ILP alumni and attorneys at Rosette, LLP, provided supervision and mentorship to the students and also provided estate planning services to Tribal members.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the Wills Clinic at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/law.asu.edu\/experiences\/clinics\/indian-legal\">ASU Law&#8217;s Indian Legal Clinic<\/a><\/strong>, 14 members received wills that covered their allotments, trust personalty and other non-trust property.\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0Kris Beecher (3L),\u00a0Blair Tarman\u00a0(2L),\u00a0and\u00a0Irvin Williams\u00a0(3L)\u00a0worked with ILP\u00a0alumni to present the Quechan Wills Clinic\u202fon Feb.\u00a028 and 29.
