Who May Apply<\/span><\/strong>: Applications will only be

About the Office<\/span><\/strong>: The Office of Immigration
\nLitigation, District Court Section, is a fast-paced office responsible for
\nimmigration-related civil litigation in the federal district courts, often
\ninvolving emergency motions. Trial Attorneys in the District Court Section
\nrepresent the Department of Homeland Security and other agencies with
\nimmigration-related missions, in both defensive litigation, and in affirmative
\ndenaturalization cases. Trial Attorneys personally handle individual and class
\naction cases as first-chair litigators through all phases of litigation in the
\nfederal district courts. Trial Attorneys develop significant litigation
\nexperience in these cases, and additional experience briefing and arguing
\nappeals of district court decisions in the various circuit courts of appeal.
\nThe office currently has approximately 50 attorneys, led by a Director, a
\nDeputy Director, and three Assistant Directors who oversee four litigating
\nteams.<\/p>\n

Opportunity Offered<\/span><\/strong>: The Office of Immigration
\nLitigation, District Court Section, seeks to fill one Trial Attorney position
\nwith promotion potentional to GS-0905-15.<\/p>\n

Qualifications<\/span><\/strong>: Applicants must possess a
\nJ.D. degree, must be admitted to the bar (any jurisdiction), and must have a
\nminimum of one year’s legal experience. Experience in immigration law is desired
\nbut not required. Veterans and members of the Armed Forces are strongly
\nencouraged to apply.<\/p>\n

Travel<\/span><\/strong>: This position requires frequent travel.<\/p>\n

Salary Information<\/span><\/strong>: $62,467 – $81,204 per
\nyear, depending upon experience.<\/p>\n

Location<\/span><\/strong>: Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n

Relocation Expenses<\/span><\/strong>: Relocation expenses are
\nnot authorized.<\/p>\n

The Federal Trade Commission
\n(FTC) enforces a variety of Federal antitrust and consumer protection laws. The
\nFTC seeks to ensure that the nation’s markets function competitively and are
\nvigorous, efficient, and free of undue restrictions. The FTC also works to
\nenhance the smooth operation of the marketplace by eliminating marketing acts
\nor practices that are unfair or deceptive. The FTC conducts economic analyses
\nto support its law enforcement efforts and to contribute to the policy
\ndeliberations of the Agency, the Congress, the Executive Branch, and other

The Federal Trade Commission\u2019s Office
\nof Policy Planning assists the Commission to develop and implement long-range
\ncompetition and consumer protection policy initiatives and advises staff on
\ncases raising new or complex policy and legal issues. The Office of Policy
\nPlanning is seeking an attorney with intellectual property experience to
\nsupport the office\u2019s work.<\/p>\n

As an attorney in the Office of
\nPolicy Planning, you will perform a variety of legal duties, including
\nfrequently challenging legal and policy analysis. Often the work of the staff
\nincludes advisory functions related to antitrust policy and enforcement efforts
\nunder the various statutes enforced by the Commission. A successful staff
\nmember has interest in and the ability to deal with both legal analysis and
\neconomic and practical business issues arising from the policy issues under
