Echohawk (Pawnee Nation) and Mary Smith (Cherokee Nation.)<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>John Echohawk, executive director of the Native American Rights Fund, received the ABA\u2019s&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/click.reply.asu.edu\/?qs=e32e2dd34d21b6eeebdb2b2db8e528f4ebd1b1f8179fd727890b4b756a1b026c4c88b69eea2fa2141977fe204ed7cba3b5f9736aa4384e9a\">Thurgood Marshall Award<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;for his service in protecting and fighting for the rights of Indian Country.&nbsp;<strong>Dallin Maybee<\/strong>&nbsp;(\u201911), NARF director of development, sang the honor song with Steve LaPointe.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>Stacy Leeds<\/strong>, the first Indigenous dean at the Sandra Day O&#8217;Connor College of Law,&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/click.reply.asu.edu\/?qs=e32e2dd34d21b6ee042607e7c66d63c00e796ba5f7e9ed112e49130aad605708293928a5a29ac92c9e48695d838878ccd53b8179b1a0256b\">administered the oath ceremony<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;for Mary Smith, the first Native American woman to lead the American Bar Association.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph
