International Rule of Law and Security Senior Director and Distinguished Professor of Practice Ambassador Clint Williamson offered his congratulations to ASU Law adjunct professor David Newman, who was appointed to serve as Associate Deputy Attorney General in the U.S. Department of Justice:
I would like to offer my congratulations to David Newman, who has taught Counterterrorism Under Law in our Washington International Rule of Law and Security (IRLS) Program for the last two years, on his appointment as Associate Deputy Attorney General in the U.S. Department of Justice. In this role, David will oversee national security, cybersecurity, and crisis management issues in the Office of the Deputy Attorney General. David had served in the Justice Department and in the Office of the White House Counsel during the Obama Administration, and more recently as a partner in the Washington office of Morrison and Foerster. While we will miss David’s direct involvement in IRLS as an adjunct professor, and the expertise and knowledge he was able to impart to our students, all of us at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law wish him the very best as he undertakes this important and challenging new role.
Morrison and Foerster also issued a statement on David Newman’s appointment.
Congratulations, Professor Newman!
