Municipal Court Judge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial;font-size: small\">CITY OF PHOENIX<\/span><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial;font-size: small\">MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE<\/span><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial;font-size: small\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial\"><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">The Judicial Selection Advisory Board<\/span> <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: small\">is accepting applications for the position of Judge of the Phoenix Municipal Court.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: small\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial;font-size: small\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-size: small\"><strong><strong>DUTIES:<\/strong><\/strong> <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small\">Presiding over a variety of trial court cases including criminal misdemeanor complaints, traffic charges, jury and non-jury trials, pre-trial conferences, arraignments, motions, order of protection hearings and other court proceedings.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-size: small\">The position will require familiarity and application of relevant state statutes, city ordinances, Supreme Court Rules, evidentiary rules and case law.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: small\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-size: small\">This position is filled by appointment of the City Council to a specified term.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial;font-size: small\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial\"><strong><strong>REQUIREMENT:<\/strong><\/strong> Admission to the Arizona State Bar and a minimum of five years practice of law or equivalent legal experience is required, with preference to at least five years of law practice in Arizona.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial;font-size: small\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial;font-size: small\">Applications are available through the Phoenix Municipal Court\u2019s web site at <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/phoenix.gov\/court\/judappl\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;font-family: Arial;font-size: small\">http:\/\/phoenix.gov\/court\/judappl<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Arial\"><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: small\">or through the Judicial Selection Advisory Board c\/o Phoenix Municipal Court, 300 West Washington Street, Phoenix, AZ 85003 (602) 495-0553.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial;font-size: small\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial;font-size: small\">Applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m., November 7, 2014.<\/span><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial;font-size: small\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial;font-size: small\">Successful applicants will be required to take and pass a drug test and employment will be contingent upon successful completion of any required drug test and consideration of background, references, and other job-related selection information.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CITY OF PHOENIX MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE \u00a0 The Judicial Selection Advisory Board is accepting applications for the position of Judge of the Phoenix Municipal Court.\u00a0 \u00a0 DUTIES: Presiding over a variety of trial court cases including criminal misdemeanor complaints, traffic &hellip;
